Electric Starter for Tecumseh Sno-King Engine
Identical replacement part for Tecumseh Starter 37000 Replaced starter on an Ariens 8526 two stage snowblower. Removing the gas tank makes the job much easier as the starter sits below the tank. Disconnect the fuel line and drain the gas from the tank, then remove the two screws on the top and lift the tank off the bracket the tank sits on. Remove the bracket to make things even easier as there is only one screw.. The Starter is easy to work on at this point. Remove two long screws from the switch/plug assembly and let it dangle by the wire then on to the starter itself. My machine had two stationary screws or pegs on top and I only had to remove the bottom two screws to release the starter, the starter will pull out of the shroud that covers the flywheel and your ready to replace it with the new one. A little Anti-Seize on the screws helps with re-assembly as things are pretty rusty from the salt. Kit contains all new hardware and power cord and replacement is very easy to do.
